FTOPS Finished and MiniFTOPS Underway

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series XVI drew to a close last week, with the $600 + $40 NLH Main Event hosted by Full Tilt Poker’s latest Red Pro recruit, Annette Obrestad.

Obrestad joins a team of true poker stars and her new employers wasted no time in getting the young Norwegian involved, by involving here with the FTOPS XVI Main Event. The $3,000,000 guaranteed prize pool attracted 4,534 players and was eventually won by “Kirbynator”, after a five-way deal was agreed on the final table. The winner took home $327,057.40 for his efforts, whilst second place “apalma” scooped the most prize money from the deal, with $342,851.96.

The new Rush Poker tournaments added to the FTOPS XVI schedule, which offered a total of $950,000 in guaranteed prize money, proved a real success, with 1,900 drawn to Jen Harman’s $200 + $16 No Limit Hold’em Rush Turbo event, 1,220 buying in to Andy Bloch’s $240 + $16 Pot Limit Omaha Rush Knockout and 1,748 playing Mike “The Mouth” Matusow’s $150 + $13 No Limit Hold’em Rush Rebuy event.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan hosted the $2,000,000 guaranteed, $2,000 + $100 two day No Limit Hold’em tournament, which was eventually won by “urbandb888”, who came out on top of 946 players. Full Tilt Pro Markus Lehmann put in a decent showing in this FTOPS tournament, with a 28th place finish for $6,400.

The largest turnout for an FTOPS XVI event came in Greg Mueller’s $120 + $9 No Limit Hold’em Knockout event, which attracted 8,586 participants and was won by LuvYouLongTime, for $137,376 plus the coveted Full Tilt Poker gold jersey. The smallest event, predictably, was the $300 Razz event, hosted by Artie Cobb, which still managed to attract 436 stud poker enthusiasts. The tournament was won by “OWiseOne83”, after a three way deal was agreed.

Full Tilt Poker offer a smaller scale re-run of the FTOPS poker tournaments, in the shape of MiniFTOPS, which follows the same schedule of events but sees all buy-ins reduced by approximately one-tenth, ideal for poker beginners or those with a smaller bankroll. MiniFTOPS XVI kicked off May 7th with a $20 + $2 No Limit Hold’em event, hosted by Bill Edler.

MiniFTOPS XVI highlights will include the Main Event, a $70 + $5 No Limit Hold’em tournament and a $600,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em event, to be held on May 9th.

Don’t miss your chance to get involved with MiniFTOPS XVI, hosted by one of the best poker sites around, Full Tilt Poker.
