PKR, the innovative online poker website that features outstanding animated 3D graphics and customisable characters, launched this year’s “Springfest” on March 28th. Springfest is PKR’s annual series of poker tournaments, which this year spans two weeks and features eleven competitions, offering over $130,000 in prize money.
The Springfest 2010 series launched with a $15,000 guaranteed, Six-Max No Limit Hold’em tournament, with a $20 buy-in. Other events include a $9 No Limit Hold’em Rebuy tournament, a $20 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha tournament with $5,000 guaranteed in prize money and a $20,000 guaranteed Deep Stack event, with a $25 buy-in.
The small entry fees and wide range of tournament structures are a main feature of the series, with PKR’s marketing Manager Erika Schwartz describing this year’s Springfest as “really exciting with lots of variation, playable structures and very affordable buy-ins”.
In addition to the regular schedule, the Springfest PKR Live Freeroll will take place a week later on Sunday April 11th, at 15:00 GMT. Anyone who enters six or more Springfest tournaments will be eligible to take part in the event, where three PKR Live IV packages will be up for grabs.
PKR Live was first held in November 2008 and featured 150 players from across the globe, coming together for PKR’s first ever “in person” event. This year, PKR Live IV will take place at the Loose Cannon Club in London on May 8th and 9th and will feature a two-day main event with a $500 buy-in, in addition to a $150 Shootout tournament.
Aside from playing in the Springfest PKR Live Freeroll, the only way to qualify for PKR Live IV is to win one of the daily satellites running at PKR.com, starting from just $5. Packages include travel and expenses, as well as buy-ins to both events, which will feature Team PKR Pros and a $20,000 Main Event prize.
